TourdeChina Terms and Conditions for Domestic Flight Reservations


Flight booking and Contact information

1. Flight:
The flight information on our website, except the discount of ticket price which changes from time to time according to airline, is accurate and updated because we connect with China Airlines Searching and Booking Engine. Lower discount and much more hot deal are available on our website, and we guarantee to provide warm and considerate service to you. 
Please note that departure and arrival time of flight displayed on our web site is the time of GMT+8.
E-ticket has been widely used in China. All tickets we provide are E-tickets unless we have special illustration. You can check in by only showing your valid passport. All your booking information is recorded in the China Airline’s system.
2. Price:
The fare displayed on our web site is shown by USD.  The fare showed on our website includes: ticket fare, Airport Construction Fee and our service charge. Prices are updated periodically, so the price listed online may not be current at the time of booking. If there is any difference in price or flight schedule, TourdeChina will notify you immediately once your reservation has been made. No discounts available for business class and first class.
3. Name and identification
All passengers are required to present valid personal identification upon request. If a name appears in two or more languages, please fill out the booking form in English.  Please make sure passenger name is as same as the name on the valid passport. Any losses caused by the wrong information you provide will be on your side.
4. Contact information:
Please make sure your contact information is correct. TourdeChina will cancel your reservation if unable to reach the contact person listed on the reservation form.
5. Double bookings:
If your book two or more flights on the same date to the same destination this is a double booking. If you double book, you may be held responsible for any costs incurred.

Reservation Confirmation and Issuing Tickets
1. Reservations & ticketing
Once a ticket reservation has been successfully completed, confirmation will be sent to the customer via the means specified by the customer. In the case of an unsuccessful reservation, TourdeChina will call the designated contact person as soon as possible. If you are the designated contact person, please keep your line open until your reservation has been successfully completed.
If you need to change your flight before issuing, please submit your preferred flight again on our website and add an illustration in the blank of special request or you can only provide your preferred flight in the email to us and we will change the flight for you. 
Please inform us if you need any special diet or wheel service and we will try every effort to arrange for you. But we are not sure to offer you such services because special services are various in different Airline Companies or airports.
2. Failure to reach contact person:
If TourdeChina is unable to contact a customer via the designated contact person due to unanswered calls, a busy line, lack of mobile coverage, incorrect contact information or any other problem, TourdeChina cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred if the reservation cannot be confirmed, ticketed or canceled because of an inability to reach the contact person.

4. Payment
You can pay airfare by credit card via PayPal. If you need to cancel a reservation after ticketing, TourdeChina will deduct all cancellation fees, and refund balance to your PayPal account. 

Hours of Operation
Order processing hours:
09:00-22:00 (Beijing time). For orders submitted after 22:00, order will be processed the next working day.

Cancellation policy:
1. Contact us:
If you want to change or cancel your reservation, you need to inform us by email or phone and the signature must be the passenger or one of the passengers. We will deal with your demanding as soon as we receive your email or fax and the disposing result will be sent to your email betimes.
2. Refund:
There will be penalties for change or cancellation after your ticket is issued. We will charge the fees according to the change and cancellation policy of related airlines. Besides the charges from airlines, we will also charge 4% each time of your full payment for your consumption this time as service fee.  
Change of your flight may result in a change of airfare because ticket discount may vary. So if you want to change your flight after issuing your ticket, you need to pay the extra fare for the difference and our service charge of 4% each time of your full payment for your consumption this time.
Cancellation fees are varying depending on the ticket discount percentage and airlines’ policies. Therefore, after issuing your ticket, canceling your booking will incur a cancellation fee and our service charge of 4% each time of your full payment for your consumption this time.
3. The special discount ticket cannot be canceled.

Travel document:
You warrant that all information you have provided to us while using our booking system is true, valid and coincident with your boarding passport. You are expected to take the loss caused by being refused to board due to an invalid traveling passport.
According to CAAC General Office, foreign travelers who want to take the flights to Tibet are demanded to hold and produce the valid passport and the Tibet Travel Permit. Please make sure you have got the permit and otherwise you will bear the full loss for refusal of your boarding.

Health certificate:
If you want to book flight for pregnant women or seriously ill persons, it’s your responsibility to confirm that they have the health certificate or a doctor’s permission letter to prove they can take flights. We are not responsible for the risks, injuries during their journey.
We cannot make reservation for women past their eighth month pregnancy.

Complaints and claims:
We endeavor to ensure that the arrangements we have made for you are implemented as arranged. If you have any dissatisfaction with your flight caused by airlines, you should negotiate with the airlines locally. If they cannot solve the problem, you should contact us immediately by telephone, fax or email, and we will try to assist you. If you fail to follow this course, any claim for compensation may be reduced or denied. If you have any unresolved complaint, please lodge in the details as well as your booking number, and your contact information in writing within 7 days after your departure date.

Responsibility:
If there are any changes or cancellations of your flights, we have the responsibility to inform you betimes for your convenience to rearrange your traveling itinerary.
Since there will be some special circumstances, your reserved flight or ticket price may vary. According to such conditions, we will inform you immediately if you have fully paid for your ticket already. And if you do not accept the changes, we promise to refund your full ticket fare.
Due to Force Majeure such as wars, natural disasters, earthquake, political reasons, terrorisms, schedule flights changes and cancellations by airlines are out of our control. It is not our responsibility if Force Majeure disturbs your journey.

Others
1. Children (age 2-12) must be accompanied by (an) adult(s) on all flights. Children's tickets cannot be booked separately.
2. Passengers should keep in mind that tickets must be used in sequence from the points of departure as shown on the tickets.
3. Infant tickets are available for infants 14 days to two years of age.
4. The following groups should avoid flying or are forbidden to fly:
♦ People with serious cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are forbidden to fly.
♦ People with severe respiratory diseases who are likely to have difficulty breathing in flight should avoid flying.
♦ Severely anemic patients are advised not to fly.
♦ People with acute ear/nose/throat inflammation or discharge, those who have recently had middle ear surgery and those with large-area trauma should not fly.
♦ Recipients of gastroenterological operations are not allowed to fly within ten days of surgery.
♦ Patients with alimentary canal bleeding are not allowed to fly until three weeks after bleeding stops.
♦ Carriers of infectious diseases are not allowed to fly within the period of quarantine, and chicken pox carriers whose lesions have not healed are prohibited.
6. Epileptics and patients of other forms of serious mental disorders are generally not allowed to fly. If there are special circumstances, please only fly after achieving control over major symptoms and consulting with your physician.

China domestic flight baggage regulation

** Regarding China Domestic flights, infant will not be provided a baggage allowance. Sorry for the inconvenience.
1. Instruction
The luggage on aircraft, according to transportation responsibility, could be divided into checked baggage, carry-on baggage and hand baggage. 
Checked baggage is defined as the baggage that passengers may check-in with airlines to be transported to the flight destination. When checking bags, a baggage tag should be issued.

Carry-on baggage  means baggage that could be taken along with by passenger in aircraft after the permission of carrier, e. g. fragile pieces, valuables, diplomatic mails, briefcases and portable typewriters.

Including wheels, handles and side pocket, the sum of three sides of each piece of baggage should not exceed 115 centimeters (45 inches) and meantime, they could be laid into baggage rack or under seat to avoid any influence of cabin service and passenger movement.
After the permission of carrier, your carry-on baggage should be combined with your checked baggage to weight and then give you to take along with. Once it exceeds the free baggage allowance, you need to pay for the additional fee for the exceeded part.
Hand baggage  means the small pieces of personal items that could be taken along with passengers on aircraft for free after the permission of carrier.

If your hand baggage exceeds the standard in weight, amount, or size, it needs to be treated as checked baggage.
2. New Checked Baggage Policy on Routes in China:
General Rules
1) Economy Class Baggage Allowance

  • Two bags per passenger may be checked free of charge
  • Maximum dimensions of each piece should not exceed 158cm (62 inches)
  • Maximum dimensions of two pieces should not exceed 273cm (107 inches)
  • Weight allowance for each piece is 23kg (50 lbs)

2 Business and First Class Baggage Allowance

  • Two bags per passenger may be checked free of charge
  • Maximum dimensions of each piece should not exceed 158cm (62 inches)

Weight allowance for each piece is 32kg (70 lbs)

  • One bag per passenger may be checked free of charge
  • Maximum dimensions of each piece should not exceed 115cm (45 inches)
  • Baby stroller (if able to fold) or carrying basket may be checked free of charge

3Items regarded as baggage if dimensions do not exceed 158cm (62 inches)

  • Sleeping bag or bedroll
  • Rucksack, knapsack, backpack
  • Snowboard/Ski equipment – A ski bag containing one pair of skis/one snowboard and poles. A boot bag containing one pair of ski boots.
  • Golf equipment - Golf bag containing golf clubs and one pair of golf shoes
  • Duffle-type bag or a type 22 bag
  • Bicycle - Single seat touring or racing bicycle, non-motorized packed properly with handlebars turned sideways and pedals are removed
  • Standard water surfboard, wake board or pair of standard water skis
  • Fishing equipment – Properly packed equipment containing not more than two fishing rods, one reel, one landing net, one pair of fishing boots and one tackle box
  • Sporting firearms- one rifle case containing not more than 2 rifles, 5kg (11 lbs) of ammunition, one shooting mat, a noise suppressor and small rifle tools, or two shotguns and two shotgun cases, or one pistol case containing not more than 5 pistols, 5kg (11 lbs) of ammunition, noise suppressors, one pistol telescope and small pistol tools. Acceptability of such firearms shall be subject to the carrier’s conditions
  • Musical instruments not exceeding 100cm (39 inches) in length

Handicapped passengers may take a wheelchair and/or walking aids
4 Oversized and excess baggage

  • Economy class passengers will be charged RMB 200 (USD 25) for each piece of luggage that exceeds 23kg (50 lbs) up to 32kg (70 lbs) and one single unit* if the dimensions of one bag exceeds 158cm (62 inches) or if two bags exceed 273cm (107 inches).
  • Baggage weighing more than 45kg (99 lbs) will not be accepted as checked baggage.  

 

3. Articles that can not be shipped as baggage
In accordance with the regulations of CAAC, the following items are not allowed in carry-on or checked baggage:
Dangerous Articles

  • Explosive articles, gas, inflammable liquids, inflammable solids, hypergolic articles, articles that release inflammable gas when in contact with water, oxidants, organic peroxide, toxicity articles, infective articles, radioactive articles, corrosive articles or any other dangerous articles.
  • Guns, ammunition, controlled cuts (knives) or similar articles
  • Controlled cuts (knives) listed in the Temporary Regulations on Controlled Cuts issued by the Public Security Ministry and approved by the State Department of the People’s Republic of China. This includes daggers, three square tools (including the three square tool used in mechanics), knives with self-locks, backswords, catlings that are longer than a dagger, and any other similar articles.

Please note that hunting equipment, athletic sports equipment, antiques, and tour souvenirs can be defined as checked baggage as long as the carrier’s requirements are met.
In accordance with the notice from the Chinese Authority, effective April 7, 2008, matches and lighters in carry-on baggage to international and domestic aircraft departing to/from China are under the ban strictly. These items are prohibited when carried as checked baggage, too. Please note that matches and lighters must be confiscated at security checkpoint.

4. Articles that can not be packed in checked baggage
1The following items should not be packed in checked baggage. If a loss of these items occurs due to a passenger breach, Air China will not be held liable and will only compensate lost baggage according to lost baggage policies.

  • Important or Commercial documents
  • Securities
  • Currency
  • Bank Draft
  • Jewelry
  • Valuable metal and metalwork
  • Curio, calligraphy and paintings
  • Fragile articles
  • Perishable articles
  • Samples
  • Presswork or scripts that are out of print
  • Travel certificates
  • Electronic/video/photographic equipment
  • Mobile phones, walkmans, computer software/hardware
  • Mobile phones, walkmans, computer software/hardware

 

2 Restrictions on Liquid Items
To safeguard the safety of airline passengers, the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China has updated restrictions relating to liquid items that may be carried in hand luggage for domestic flights.
    1. Liquid items are prohibited from hand luggage but can be packed in checked luggage. Packaging of liquids must comply with the relevant provisions of civil aviation transport.
    2. Small amounts of liquids are allowed in hand luggage as long as there in only one container for each product, each container is a maximum size of 100ml, and all items are placed in a single bag for inspection.
    3. Duty-free liquid items brought from passengers of overseas flights connecting to domestic flights must be placed in a sealed transparent plastic bag with the supporting proof of receipt. These items would need to be approved by the security inspector.
    4. Special provisions are made for liquid baby formula or medications. If traveling with an infant, please bring powder formula or request a baby meal 24 hours prior to departure. The air crew will hold any liquid medications that passengers may need for the flight. These items would need to be approved by the security inspector.
5. For passengers taking international or regional flights, restrictions on liquid items in hand luggage is still subject to the relevant provisions in the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China’s Announcement on Liquid Restrictions in Hand Luggage for Civil Flights issued on March 17th 2007.
