Tian'anmen Square: Located in the center of Beijing, Tiananmen Square is the largest city central square in the world with an area of 440,000 square meters. Tiananmen (Gate of the Heavenly Peace), was the front gateway of the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties, where imperial edicts were made public. The inauguration ceremony of the People’s Republic of China was held here on October 1, 1949. In the center of the square stands the Memorial Hall of Mao Zetong.
The Forbidden City: the Forbidden City, where 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties resided. Located in the center of the central axial line of Beijing, the Palace Museum was firstly constructed in 1406. It has more than 9,000 halls and rooms, and contains a large number of valuable cultural relics. Expect to spend at least 2-3 hours, wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather.
Treasure Houses: Treasure house has undergone 4 time renovations, the present one takes up almost 220 square metres, more than 440 treasures on display belonged to Qing dynasty royalty, half of which have not never been on display in the old one. It's worthy of visiting.
Hutong Tours in a Rickshaw: The area for visitor to take Hutong tour main sits by Shichahai Lake in the city proper, where visitors can place themselves in old water scenes, residences of former princes, temples, former residences of celebrities, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, and so on. The area preserves proudly the original appearance of the city, showcasing Beijing’s local lives. Your tour includes a visit with a local family.

Temple of Heaven: Constructed in 1420(the 18th year of the Yongle reign period of the Ming Dynasty). The Temple of Heaven was the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshiped heaven and prayed for good harvests. It has been included into the UNSCO World Heritage List. Well known for its precise outlay, unusual architectural decorations, it is the largest temple complex for praying in China.
Summer Palace: Constructed in the Qing Dynasty, the Summer Palace was an imperial garden. It displays excellent gardening art, and gathers tens of thousands of precious cultural relics. It has been included to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Beijing Olympic Green (exterior visit of Bird Nest and Water Cube): Olympic Green is the main venue of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and is composed of the Olympic Forest Park and the Central Zone. It has accommodation of 91,000. It demonstrates an effective space and it’s elegant and has a unique and nice shape. All parts of the structure support each other and constitute a net structure, like a bird’s nest with its interwoven twigs. The national Aquatics Center is illustrated composed of foam H2O, molecules. As a result, the whole building has a unique video effect of flowing water and got a name of “water cube”.
Jing Mian Da Wang Restaurant(Chong Wen Men Branch): Jing Mian Da Wang specializes in its traditional decoration of old city with archaistic red lanterns & bridal sedan chair, it mainly caters wheaten food to diners from local and different regions, creating a cozy atmosphere of festival and household.

Simatai Great Wall: This dizzying section of the Great Wall is for the very fit - it's extremely steep, and unrestored, therefore quite challenging in places. The reward for the energetic who are prepared to tackle it is that it's also very beautiful, far less crowded and has some fascinating architecture. Be prepared!

Day 5 Chengde-Beijing

Chengde Summer Resort Scenic Spot: Chengde Summer Palace Resort, located in the north of Chengde city, was a place where emperors from the Qing dynasty spent their summers to escape the heat in Beijing. Occupying an area of 564,000 square meters, it is the largest royal garden in China, even bigger than the Summer Palace in Beijing. The historically important Chengdo Summer Palace is not only a tourist destination, but also a museum to explore the history and culture of the Qing Dynasty.
Xumi Fushou Temple: Xumi Fushou Temple, located near Putuozongcheng Temple, was built in an imitation of the Tashilhunpo Monastery in Tibet. It was built as a residence for the sixth Panchen Lama who traveled a great distance from Tibet to Chengde in 1870. He was to participate in the celebration of Emperor Qianlong's birthday. Ironically, the temple's name, meaning happiness and longevity, runs contrary to its history and the Lama's unfortunate destiny. He had to be sent home for burial after succumbing to small pox.
Putuozongcheng Temple (Potala): Putuozongcheng Temple is reminiscent of the Dala Lama’s Potala Palace in Tibet. It is considered as a great place to go if you cannot travel to Tibet. The temple was built to show the imperial family's respect for the minority groups and their beliefs. The temple is a marvelous sight with red walls that contrast against the green mountain backdrop. The top of the temple complex has a commanding view of the Chengde Summer Palace Resort.
Puning Temple: Punning Temple, also called Big Buddha Temple, has the world's largest wooden Buddha. This Buddha has thousands of hands and eyes. It is 22 meters high and 15 meters wide. The temple was built to commemorate Emperor Qianlong's victory over the Mongolian rebellion. The front of the temple was built in traditional Chinese style, but the temple complex features both Han and Tibetan style buildings. The temple has drum and bell towers, numerous pavilions and halls. It is still in use today.

Private Transfers:
Transfers between airports, hotels and scenic spots while sightseeing in Beijing, by private air conditioned vehicle with a driver and English-speaking guide (as listed above).
Guide:
As outlined in the itinerary an English-speaking guide and driver will be provided in each city, who will remain with you throughout your time in that city. A new guide and a new driver will meet you at each city on your tour, to provide you with the best local knowledge available.
Hotels:
Hotel fees are based on two people sharing one room with twin beds.
