Guide will welcome you at the arrival hall of Beijing International Airport. Then pick you up and transfer to hotel for check-in. Free for leisure the rest of the day, you can take a good rest for jetlag recovery. Our guide will introduce the restaurants and surrounding information for you.

Day 2 Beijing

Detailed Itinerary:

Tian'anmen Square: Located in the center of Beijing, Tiananmen Square is the largest city central square in the world with an area of 440,000 square meters. Tiananmen (Gate of the Heavenly Peace), was the front gateway of the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties, where imperial edicts were made public. The inauguration ceremony of the People’s Republic of China was held here on October 1, 1949. In the center of the square stands the Memorial Hall of Mao Zetong.

The Forbidden City: the Forbidden City, where 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties resided. Located in the center of the central axial line of Beijing, the Palace Museum was firstly constructed in 1406. It has more than 9,000 halls and rooms, and contains a large number of valuable cultural relics. The Palace Museum is a national AAAAA scenic area. Expect to spend at least 2-3 hours, please wear comfortable walking shoes and protection from the weather.

Summer Palace: Constructed in the Qing Dynasty, the Summer Palace was an imperial garden. It displays excellent gardening art, and gathers tens of thousands of precious cultural relics. It has been names one of the national AAAAA scenic spots and included into the UNESCO World Heritage List. You can expect to spend 2-3 hours here. Renovations (complete in 2010) mean that an individual section or building may be closed at any one time, but this is a huge site. Wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather.

After dinner, you will be lead to enjoy the Kungfu show at Red Theatre.

Day 3 Beijing

Detailed Itinerary:
Temple of Heaven: Constructed in 1420(the 18th year of the Yongle reign period of the Ming Dynasty). The Temple of Heaven was the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshiped heaven and prayed for good harvests. It has been included into the UNSCO World Heritage List. Well known for its precise outlay, unusual architectural decorations, it is the largest temple complex for praying in China. First visit Temple of Heaven and see thousand of local people doing morning exercises including Tai Chi and Shuttlecock kicking. Badaling Great Wall (with round way cable car): This section of the Great Wall is about 2 hours' drive from downtown Beijing. A cable car takes you to a good section (avoiding a very steep climb), where you can walk along the wall, through the watch towers and enjoy superb views as it snakes across the hills and mountains. You can return by cable car, walk down or walk along the wall for about an hour to descend by chairlift. Wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather.

Day 4 Beijing-Xian

Detailed Itinerary:
Visit Beijing Olympic Green and take an outside tour to the Bird's Nest and Water Cube. Then proceed to visit the Beijing Zoo to see the cute Giant Pandas. Then transfer to the airport and take flight to Xi’an later.

Day 5 Xian

Detailed Itinerary:
Big Wild Goose Pagoda: A major Buddhist site, the simple, elegant brick Pagoda stands in the grounds of the attractive Da Ci'en Temple. The Pagoda was built in the 7th century to house the Buddhist materials that Xuanzang (Tripitaka) brought back from his epic journey to India. The Temple complex has several large halls with some great Buddhist statues and murals.

The Terracotta Warriors and Horses: Discovered accidentally in 1974, this incredible army of over 7000 soldiers, archers, horses and chariots in full battle array has guarded Emperor Qin's tomb since 210BC. Each figure is unique, and the painstaking repair and excavation continues in 3 pits which are protected inside huge hangars. 1.5 hours from Xian, there is also an excellent museum and film about the history of the vaults. Photos (no flash) are allowed. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Handmade Pottery Factory: the Handmade Pottery Factory manufactures the copies of terra-cotta warriors and horses of Jing De porcelain. It has become a popular spot for foreign tourists looking for special, quality souvenirs.

Day 6 Xian to Guilin

Detailed Itinerary:
Shaanxi Provincial Museum: The history of Shaanxi is said to be the history of China, and this museum is quite simply one of the nation's best. Four major galleries in large, Tang-style buildings house a vast and impressive collection, beautifully displayed. Most of the item labels are in English, although some other information on the exhibitions is not, but your guide can help here. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Ancient City Wall: The walls, ramparts, gates and watchtowers form one of the oldest and most complete city defenses still around. Built in the 13th century on the foundations of the original Tang Forbidden City surrounding the city centre. You can walk, rent a bike, rickshaw or take an electric cart around the full 14km circuit, with great views of the city on either side. If the weather is not good for biking on the city wall, we will substitute a visit to the Bell Tower. Your guide will be very glad to take you the Bell Tower after you have been to look at the city wall.

Day 7 Guilin

Longji Terraced Fields: The Longji Terraces are located in Longsheng County about 2 hours from Guilin . The rice terraces are built into the hillsides. The terraces look like great chains or ribbons as they wind from the foot to the top of the hill. This ingenious construction makes best use of the scare arable land and water resources in the mountainous area. There are about 66 square kilometers terraced fields in southeast of Longsheng,
The Terraces were first built in the Yuan dynasty and completed in the Qing dynasty by the Zhuang people

Day 8 Guilin-Yangshuo

Li River Cruise: A cruise along the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo is an unforgettable experience. Li River is the soul of a tour of Guilin. As you take the cruise along the river to Yangshuo, it is like sailing down a painting scroll with picturesque landscapes, such as the reflections of oddly-shaped peaks, limped waters, green hills, shepherd boys sing songs and fishermen going fishing, making everyone gasp in admiration. The scenery is charming and graceful, with clean waters lingering around and queer peaks reflected in water. That’s why former people described it as “one hundred meters of the Li River, one hundred meters of an art gallery”.

West Street is the oldest street in Yangshuo with a history of morethan 1,400 years. Situated at the center of Yangshuo County, West Street hasbecome, since the 1980's, a window of eastern and western culture and the biggest'foreign language center' in China. West Street is the most prosperous districtin Yangshuo, and, each year, approximately 100,000 foreigners come here ontheir travels or to attend advanced studies. Visitors are attracted to WestStreet by its unique mix of cultures.West Street is 517 meters (1,696 feet) long and 8meters (26 feet) wide, meandering in an 'S' along its length. Being completelypaved with marble it is a typical example of a southern China street. It isgreatly admired by foreigners for its simple style and courtyard-like setting.There is a saying about West Street that 'half is village while the other halfis stores'.

Yangshuo Countryside Biking: Experience the hustle & bustle of the Yangshou traffic for 5 minutes before you escape onto the country roads, lanes and tracks of the distinctive and beautiful Yangshou countryside. Biking through the paddy field and orchards that surround the famous mountains will give a fascinating insight into life in rural China. Centuries old farming methods sit side by side with mobile phones and satellite dishes.

Day 10 Shanghai

The Shanghai World Financial Center: The Shanghai World Financial Center is a super tall skyscraper. It is a mixed use skyscraper, which will consist of offices, hotels, conference rooms, observation decks, and shopping malls on the lower floors. The hotel component has 175 rooms and suites and goes by the name: The Park Hyatt, Shanghai. On September 14, 2007, the skyscraper reached 492.3 meters (1,615.2 ft) and became the tallest structure on mainland China, including Hong Kong, as well as the world's third tallest building (including unfinished ones), after the Burj Dubai and Taipei 101.

Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall: A short walk across Renmin Square from the Shanghai Museum, this is a fascinating insight into Shanghai's future. The 2nd floor has a giant walkaround model of the city, and other floors have great displays, interactive exhibitions and walkthroughs of aspects such as the ports, greening, leisure etc.

Yuyuan Garden : Located at a very busy marketplace in a complex of traditional-style buildings, backing onto Yu Gardens, you can find everything there from popular local snacks and food, crafts, antiques and souvenirs to Starbucks, teahouses and some great restaurants. There is a small (reconstructed) Temple (Chenghuang: Temple of the City Gods) in there as well.

The Bund: Once the home of the foreign traders and major banks, the embankment has taken on a new vitality; lovely old European-style buildings mix with futuristic developments, chic restaurants, top end shops and bars offer plenty to see and do and by night it's magic!
