Wutong Mountain

Wutong Mountain is one of the few suburb natural beauty spots in China that are close to the downtown and take seashore, mountains and natural vegetation as landscape body. Its landscape is characterized by “rarity, beauty, quietness and broadness”. Among these landscapes, Phoenix Tree Smoke and Cloud is confirmed by Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government as one of the new Eight Scenes of Shenzhen. The peak of the Wutong Mountain is 943.7m above sea level and the first peak of Shenzhen. The majestic mountain lives in harmony with the variable cloud and fog and reflects and shines with the mountains and sea around the Dapeng Bay. With serene brooks and gullies and flourishing plants, it is one of the asylums and resource storehouses for rare animals and plants in the Pearl River Delta. According to related investigations, there are 233 families, 764 genuses and 1,376 species of natural vegetation vascular plants, including thorny Alsophila spinulosa, amentotaxus, silverback artocarpus, blinding tree, klainedoxa busgenii and other rare and endangered species; in addition, there are rich wild animal resources here, totally 24 families, 64 gernuses and 196 species, including such wildlife under special state protection as boa, glede, Chinese Goshawk, coucal, pangolin and lesser civetcat etc.
