Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses
Brief Introduction:
Many people believe it is a “must-see” spot of the age-old city-Xi’an. Located in the burial site north of the east avenue of the outer city of Emperor Qin Shihuang’s Tomb, Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses is a large-scale underground military museum which is regarded as the eighth marvel in the world. With a history of more than 2000 years and covering an area of over 23290 square yards, the 3 excavated terracotta pits all face east, arranged together in a shape of ‘品’. More than 8000 terracotta warriors and horses and more than 40,000 bronze weapons have been excavated from the pits, looking like guarding soldiers standing outside the capital.
As the warriors buried with Emperor Qin Shihuang, the large-scale mighty troops represent the military power during Qin Dynasty and these terracotta warriors hold unique character of a Dynasty. As the treasure of sculptural arts, the Terracotta Warriors have made the Chinese and world culture more colorful.
What is the purpose to build it the Terracotta Warriors and Horses? How to get there:
You can take the bus No.306 and bus No.307 from the east square of the train station, and you may wait for about 10 minutes for the bus from 7:00 to 18:00.
